Health Sciences Center Applicants

The undergraduate programs at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center have specific application periods and requirements. Please refer to the program’s website for admission requirements for Dental Hygiene , Exercise Physiology , Immunology & Medical Microbiology , Medical Laboratory Science , Nursing, or Occupational Therapy

Dental Hygiene

Prospective Dental Hygiene students may submit an application for Fall 2014 admission from September 1 through March 1.

Registered dental hygienists that attended an accredited U.S. dental hygiene program may apply to the Dental Hygiene Degree Completion Program for fall, spring, or summer admission on a rolling basis.

Exercise Physiology

Prospective Exercise Physiology students may submit an application for fall, spring or summer admission on a rolling basis.

Immunology and Medical Microbiology

High School Students(First Time Freshman)
Prospective Immunology and Medical Microbiology students that are currently enrolled in high school or have graduated from high school and have not completed any post-secondary (after high school) course work may submit an application for fall, spring or summer admission on a rolling basis.

HSC Transfer, Second Degree and WVU students(HSC Internal Transfer)
Prospective Immunology and Medical Microbiology students may submit an application for Fall 2014 admission between December 1 and March 1.

Medical Laboratory Science

High School Students(First Time Freshman)
Prospective Medical Laboratory students that are currently enrolled in high school or have graduated from high school and have not completed any post-secondary (after high school) course work may submit an application for fall, spring or summer admission on a rolling basis.

HSC Transfer, Second Degree and WVU students(HSC Internal Transfer)
Prospective Medical Laboratory Science students may submit an application for Fall 2014 admission between December 1 and July 1. Please click here for detailed application instructions

Nursing

High School Students(First Time Freshman)
Prospective Nursing students that are currently enrolled in high school or have graduated from high school and have not completed any post-secondary (after high school) course work may submit an application for fall, spring or summer admission on a rolling basis.

HSC Transfer, Second Degree and WVU Students(HSC Internal Transfer)
Prospective Nursing students that are not licensed RN’s, do not already have a Bachelor’s degree and are seeking a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) may submit an application from December 1 to January 15 for Fall 2014. Applications received January 16 to May 15 will be considered only for Spring 2015 admission.

Registered Nurse seeking a BSN or Masters of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN or RN to MSN)
Prospective Nursing students that are currently licensed RN’s that are seeking a BSN or MSN may submit an application from May 1 to November 1 for Spring 2014 consideration, September 1 to March 1 for Summer 2014 consideration and December 1 to June 1 for Fall 2014 consideration.

Fast Track Nursing
Prospective Nursing students that currently have a four year undergraduate degree and are seeking a BSN may submit an application for Spring 2015 admission between March 1 and July 1.

Non-Degree Nursing (Undergraduate Only)
Prospective Nursing students who are not degree seeking may submit an application for fall, spring or summer admission on a rolling basis.

Occupational Therapy

High School Students(First Time Freshman)
Prospective Occupation Therapy students that are currently enrolled in high school or have graduated from high school and have not completed any post-secondary (after high school) course work may submit an application for fall, spring or summer admission on a rolling basis.

HSC Transfer, Second Degree and WVU students(HSC Internal Transfer)
Prospective Occupational Therapy students that have completed the pre-requisite college course work may submit an application for Summer 2014 admission between November 13 and February 15.
