Paying for College

Dream first and worry about tuition last. We offer a quality education at a great price, and aid programs that make our price tag even better.

Hard work pays off. Literally. In 2022-23, WVU Morgantown disbursed $140.9 million in scholarships. Our scholarships are usually given in addition to the West Virginia Promise Scholarship, which many West Virginia students also qualify for. And the best part about scholarships? You never have to pay them back.

You and your parents can borrow up to the full amount of your estimated Cost of Attendance (or budget) each academic year. Unlike scholarships, all loans must be repaid, usually with interest.
