Change of Term
2026 Requests
Attention: The request for a 2026 change of term will be available in August when our new student application portal opens. Instructions will be available on the WVU Admissions website later this summer. Students will not be required to pay an additional application fee if they have already paid.
Students who are changing their term to summer or fall 2025 will use the current form, which is available below.
Summer/Fall 2025 Requests
First-time Freshman Students
You may request to have your enrollment term changed to another term within one academic
cycle. You may not be eligible for a change of term if you are conditionally
admitted.
- Submit the Change of Term form.
- An official final high school transcript with graduation date must be on file.
- Processing times may vary dependent on the requested term.
- Eligibility for select majors, the Honors College and merit scholarships may change.
- Housing will be canceled and may be manually reassigned.
- You may be ineligible to receive refunds of the academic and housing deposits.
- You are not eligible for a change of term if you are enrolling at another institution. You must reapply to WVU as a transfer student and submit official college transcripts.

- Please continue to send official transcripts to WVU that show completed courses and courses in-progress so your WVU academic adviser is able to best assist you with your WVU course schedule.
