Seize your moment.

Like Ryan Maurer, a mechanical and aerospace engineering major from Perryopolis, Pennsylvania.

While at WVU he became one of just a few fortunate souls to have ever descended into Monster Cavern, part of West Virginia’s longest cave system, where he took jaw-dropping photos. And he launched a rocket at Arches National Park in Utah — one he helped build.

He says the people he’s met and organizations he joined here — including the Student Grotto and Experimental Rocketry Club — helped him carve his own path.
“The people I became involved with provided the means for me to be able to do these things. The community here is just fantastic. I don’t think you can find this anywhere else.”
