Applicants need to have passed at least five O Level/GCSE/IGCSE exams from approved UK exam boards before being reviewed for admission. English and Math must be among the five required subject passes. Cambridge exam results need to be verified through Cambridge International Direct. Results from other exam boards can generally be reviewed based on unofficial transcripts.

In most cases A and AS level exams are not required for admission. They are only required when applicants took national exams (e.g., SEE from Nepal, Sri Lankan GCE O Levels) to qualify for AS/A Level study instead of IGCSE/GCSE exams through an approved UK exam board. In all cases A and AS level exam passes can be awarded university credit. AS level subjects are typically awarded 3-4 credits depending on how many credits the introductory course at WVU in that subject requires. A level subjects are awarded 6-8 credits depending on how many credits the introductory courses at WVU in that subject require. Credit for AS level subjects is not assessed when an A Level pass in the same subject is present.
WVU reserves the right to require official or additional documents as needed to complete a complete and fair review.
Proof of English Proficiency
A pass in the subject of English is considered proof of English proficiency. GCSE/IGCSE/O Level passing grades are letter grades A, B or C, or numerical grades 4-9. AS/A level passing grades are A, B, C, D, or E.
Minimum admission Requirements
WVU will convert your results into a U.S. grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 maximum scale.
Freshman Requirements
Applicants with a converted GPA of at least 2.5/4.0 can be admitted. Some majors have higher GPA requirements for direct entry.
Transfer Requirements
Please see the Freshman Requirements. Applicants with AS/A Level credit are still considered freshmen.
