At WVU, we recognize that family support is an integral part of a student’s success in college. We understand that you are a partner in the educational process and encourage you to build a strong connection with the University by joining the Mountaineer Parents Club.
WVU’s Mountaineer Parents Club is free and open to parents and family members of current, former, and future WVU students. To join, just sign-up online.
The Mountaineer Parents Club was founded by WVU's 21st president, David C. Hardesty, and his wife, Susan. It ensures that families are included in the college experience. Over 18,000 WVU families are connected through 66 local clubs that hold events like summer send-off picnics. Parents receive newsletters and e-mails to keep informed about the latest campus news and the many services offered to our students.
A toll-free helpline (800-WVU-0096) leads to a parent advocate who provides direct and immediate assistance for parents who have questions or concerns that do not appear to fall within the typical categories of frequently called WVU numbers. Parents are urged to share their compliments, suggestions for improvements, or concerns about WVU by calling the helpline. Parents may call from anywhere in the United States and a parent advocate will research each question, concern, or comment. If a message is left, a response will be given in one business day, if possible.
If you haven’t yet visited campus with your student, we encourage you to do so. Even if you have been to WVU in the past and are familiar with the campus, we urge you to return and see how the University – and Morgantown – has grown and changed over the years. After you stroll the streets of our safe community and enjoy the hospitality that characterizes our state, we think you’ll agree that WVU is the perfect place for your son or daughter to live and learn.
