Forget about dorm doldrums at other colleges and universities. WVU's innovative residential college approach is taking the student life experience to a whole new level.
Imagine a residence hall where everyone knows your name, you get to go on weekend trips to New York and Washington, DC, and one of your favorite professors is your neighbor.
What's more, faculty members from a variety of disciplines teach freshman seminars and serve as mentors.
WVU’s residential colleges create small but diverse learning communities within the framework of a larger institution. Students not only receive academic guidance from close faculty contacts, but they also take part in social and cultural activities with resident faculty leaders, or RFLs, and fellow classmates.
In addition, associate members from the University and community – like WVU’s executive officer for social justice and WVU’s health education program coordinator – interact with students and discuss mental and physical health, financial management, civic leadership, and other issues aimed at helping students succeed at WVU.

While there is not a GPA, SAT, and/or ACT requirement to live in a residential college, admission is selective. For more information about residential colleges at WVU, please visit the Housing Office’s Residential College page.
