Admissions Policy
WVU has a rolling admissions policy which means we do not have a specific deadline by which you must apply. The application review period for the fall semester begins September 15. Applicants are considered for and informed of admission on a first-come, first-served basis. We continue to admit students until the freshman class is full. Students who apply for the fall semester and submit all necessary admission materials by January 1, should receive our admission decision by February 15. In order to be eligible for scholarships from WVU, you must be admitted by February 1.
WVU offers one of the premier music education programs in the region. Our music education students benefit from an unusually comprehensive curriculum taught by nationally recognized faculty members.
Music education majors are prepared to teach vocal, instrumental, and general music to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Those graduating with a bachelor’s degree in music education may also opt to continue their education in graduate school.
