WVU students receive over $239 million a year in grants, loans, work study, fee waivers, and scholarships. Awards are based on financial need and academic ability. About 66 percent of WVU undergraduates receive some financial aid; almost half of the aid given to resident undergraduates is as grants and scholarships.
To apply for financial aid, you need to submit your admissions application to WVU and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the federal processing center before the March 1 absolute deadline.
You can get the FAFSA from your guidance counselor or from the WVU Financial Aid Office (e-mail finaid@mail.wvu.edu, or phone 304-293-5242 and choose option 4). The FAFSA is available on the Web after January 1 at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. Our school code is 003827.
