Each year, WVU welcomes nearly 1,400 new transfer students. If you have attended another college or university since graduating from high school, you are considered a transfer student.
To apply as a transfer student, complete the undergraduate admission application and have your official transcripts from all schools you have attended sent to WVU Transfer Admissions, PO Box 6009, Morgantown, WV 26506-6009. Faxed transcripts and transcripts issued to students cannot be accepted.
If you have fewer than 29 transferable hours, you must also submit an official high school transcript and your ACT or SAT scores. Please ask your high school to mark the transcript for transfer admission.
The material above must be received by WVU by August 1 for a fall admission and by December 1 for a spring admission. Apply as early as possible.
For more information, read how to apply as a transfer student and see if your credits will transfer.
Students at WVU Institute of Technology and WVU at Parkersburg may apply for transfer admission without paying the application fee. To take advantage of this fee waiver, download an admissions application (PDF) and mail it to WVU Admissions and Records, PO Box 6009, Morgantown, WV 26506-6009.
