Getting on-the-job experience is the ideal way to “try out” your future profession, while building skills that will aid in your future job search.
The Career Services Center’s Job Location and Development Office maintains a clearinghouse of available internships. Some employers conduct on-campus interviews for their internship positions. In addition to the resources available at the WVU Career Services Center, some schools, colleges, and departments have internship coordinators who assist students in securing career-related internships.
For some majors, such as forensic and investigative science and communication studies, an internship is required; many other majors highly recommend that their students complete internships.
Summer Internships in London: Paul King spent 5 weeks working in London over the summer.
Disney Internships: Melissa Moraes is working at Walt Disney World during the summer and fall semesters. She found out about the paid internship at an on-campus meeting with Disney recruiters.
