Advising

When you enroll at WVU, you will be assigned an academic advisor and have the opportunity to meet your advisor during New Student Orientation.

Once on campus, you may meet with your advisor at any time by appointment. You are required to see your advisor at least once each semester to plan your course schedule for the following term.

In addition to your academic advisor, WVU staff members in a variety of student support offices are available to assist you:

• WVU Career Services offers help in selecting a career or major.
• The Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services provides low-cost personality and career interest testing, as well as free counseling for all types of concerns (e.g., adjusting to college life, test anxiety, and study difficulties).
• Student Support Services offers individualized services to students who are either first-generation, income eligible, or have a learning or physical disability.
